Low-cost Windows Pro Tablet Connects with Classroom InFocus Mondopad at InfoComm

InFocus-Mondopad-INF8021-Front-300dpi-CMYKPORTLAND, Ore. – May 2014 — InFocus Corporation (www.infocus.com), the collaboration technology pioneer known for its large-format digital devices, is enhancing its teamwork offerings to include the individual-sized InFocus Q Tablet; optimized for use in conference and classrooms in conjunction with the company’s Mondopad and select projectors.

In addition to shipping with Microsoft Office 2013, InFocus Q Tablet comes pre-installed with four InFocus apps specifically designed to facilitate sharing, viewing and controlling content on Mondopad or an InFocus wireless-enabled projector, enhancing the collaborative experience.

“Q Tablet is an ideal tool for the engaged student because it empowers them to effectively participate in classroom discussions with the tablets annotation, file and screen sharing from across the room,” said Dave Duncan, InFocus product manager. “It’s powerful, lightweight, can run all the Windows 8.1 apps they need, all on a realistic student budget.”

InFocus Q Tablet built-in apps include:

  • ControlView — Duplicates the InFocus Mondopad desktop on Q Tablet, giving a presenter full touch control of Mondopad from the tablet.
  • Present2 — Wirelessly replicates Q Tablet’s screen on Mondopad for presentations.
  • EZ Display — Presents documents from Q Tablet to an enabled InFocus projector.
  • InFocus BigNote (trial) — Adds an interactive whiteboard to the Q Tablet with multi-colored pens and shapes for notes, sketches and annotations that can be saved and shared.

The new InFocus Q Tablet runs the Windows 8.1 operating system on an Intel Atom Z2760 processor. It is a 10.1-inch, five-point, 1280 x 800 IPS touchscreen and has 32 gigabytes of storage. It is slim, weighs less than two pounds and comes with USB type-A and SD card inputs, docking connector, front-facing camera and stereo speakers. InFocus Q Tablet also supports wireless networking and Bluetooth 4.0. Optional accessories include a docking station/stand/charger, wireless keyboard and mouse, and Presenter radio frequency remote with USB receiver.
